The Computer Graphics and Multimedia Systems Group of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Siegen – aims to fill at the earliest possible date the following vacancy

One Research Scientist or Post Doc (fulltime position, salary scale 13 TV-L)

with focus on computer graphics, computational imaging or computer vision. The position is initially limited in time to a period of three years with potential for contract prolongation. The term is limited by the regulations of the German Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).

Your tasks:

Research and development of innovative methods in the area of computer graphics, computational photography or computer vision.

The specific topic definition is based on the qualifications and previous knowledge of the applicant and can include, for example, the topics of image and scene reconstruction and analysis on the basis of RGB-D image sequences, image reconstruction and tomography, or the visualization of time-variant data or, also, aspects of machine learning.

You are expected to teach for 4 hours per week/semester.

You will be given the opportunity to work towards your dissertation or habilitation.

Your profile:

You have a very good scientific degree (master-level) in computer science with focus on computer graphics or computer vision, as well as good to excellent written and oral English skills.

In addition to good or very good knowledge in object-oriented programming (C ++) under Linux/Unix or Windows, we also expect solid knowledge in the mathematical foundations of computer graphics and in the programming of graphics hardware (GPUs).

In the case of an application as a post-doctoral candidate, a very good doctorate in computer science, mathematics or electrical engineering with a clear research focus on computer graphics is expected, which is documented by relevant publications.
